As we’ve previously reported, the line-up for Unsound Festival Krakow, which runs from 14th-21st October, is among the year’s best, featuring the likes of Vatican Shadow, Dan Lopatin & Tim Hecker, the Haxan Cloak, Pole, Factory Floor, Shed, Theo Parrish, Shackleton and many more. Week-long and weekend tickets for the festival have now sold out, but individual tickets are still available to all the events – you can find out more here.
With only 2 weeks to go until the festival, they’ve now made a final announcement of a few more acts, plus the full programme of talks and film screenings.
The last few announcements are the icing on an already very rich cake: Ben UFO (pictured above), co-head of the Hessle Audio label and one of the best DJs in the UK; Morphine Records-signed Metasplice, who operate in a caustic hinterland between techno and screaming electronic noise; Lee Gamble, who has a couple of fantastic new ambient/electronic releases due via PAN; and LA-based ghostly grime producers Nguzunguzu.
James Leyland Kirby’s V/Vm, who are already playing earlier in the weekend, will be doing a second performance at the festival’s closing party – expect chaos – joined by Acid Alan (a luminary of the 80s Belgian New Beat scene). Author/journalist Dave Tompkins will also DJing Miami bass.
UK duo Jigoku have curated a series of film screenings around the festival’s theme The End – you can see the full details here. There is also the usual extensive talks/panels programme, which features this year the likes of Hieroglyphic Being, Theo Parrish and Blackest Ever Black’s Kiran Sande chatting with Stuart Argabright (Ike Yard/Black Rain). The Quietus’ Rory Gibb will also be hosting a Q&A with Daniel ‘Oneohtrix Point Never’ Lopatin and Tim Hecker about their new collaborative record. You can see the full discussion programme here.
