Running until September 29 at pubs, parks, pop-ups and actual picture houses, the Scala Beyond fringe film season "celebrating all forms of cinema exhibition across the UK" gets immersive this Saturday September 15 with a special screening of Silent Running at Utrophia Project Space on Deptford High Street.
Site-specific cinema crew The Vanishing Point will use the venue’s gallery spaces and rooftop to recreate the vibe of Douglas Trumbull’s ecologically minded 1972 sci-fi favourite. In addition to a live set by Fence Records singer-songwriter Rozi Plain, attendees can expect "interaction with crew members from the Valley Forge space freighter, garden areas, a blast-off bar, a vegan food stall and immersive installations inspired by the fiction of the film." The voyage begins at 7.30pm and you’re advised to book tickets in advance; more information can be found here.
