Bristol’s Noods Radio Launches Crowdfunder to Buy Current Premises

The landlord of the building housing Mickey Zoggs, which is also home to the online radio station, has put it up for sale

Bristol’s Noods Radio has launched a crowdfunder to raise the money needed to buy its current premises, the community bar and events space Mickey Zoggs.

Taking to Instagram this week, the online radio station revealed that the landlord of the building housing the venue plans to sell up when its lease comes to an end later this year. “Help us save our space from development,” a social media post by Noods read. “We’ve been told we need to buy the pub or move on. So we’re asking for your support to help us raise money for the deposit so we can buy the building.”

The post continued: “By buying the building, we can ensure that Mickey Zoggs continues to serve the community and that Noods Radio has a secure home to keep broadcasting. Without Zoggs, the station may cease to exist.”

The Crowdfunder campaign has a target of £70,000, and almost £12,000 of that has been raised so far at the time of writing. A series of rewards are available to those who donate certain sums of money to the fundraising drive. Find more details here.
