Rumour has it that recent Quietus interviewees Glasvegas have got metal goliaths Metallica running scared.
Metallica’s new album Death Magnetic was scheduled for a simultaneous worldwide release today (September the 12th) and was expected to sell by the proverbial bucket load.
However with Glasvegas’ self titled debut hurtling towards the UK number one spot, with mid-week sales of over 100,000, many British shops have been selling Death Magnetic two days early.
An Industry spokesman told NME: "Metallica lost nearly half a week in sales to Glasvegas, so it’s going to be close on Sunday when the chart is announced.
"This is a big comeback for Metallica and their label, and they really want to be top of the charts, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they decided to put their album out a few days early in the UK."
