Ry Cooder - Paris, Texas OST
I thought I’d throw an instrumental record in the mix! I love Ry Cooder’s slide guitar. I was a cool arty teenager trying to watch all my independent movies and I liked the music, it made me think of riding out into the desert and never coming back and disappearing into a tumbleweed. Life is hard enough so I like music that lets you escape, it’s transportive. I still listen to this record all the time. It’s not something I would pick out a track from, but it’s more just if you want to put something on and cook a meal or drive seven hours ‘til your next gig. My life when I’m tour, especially in the US, it’s like ‘oh, we only have a fifteen-hour drive today!’ You need these long-form records.
