WATCH: Lynch-Directed Thought Gang Video

David Lynch directs a video for a track from his forthcoming collaborative LP with Angelo Badalamenti

With the release of David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti’s archival collaborative album as Thought Gang due tomorrow, Sacred Bones Records has shared a video for one of the tracks, ‘A Real Indication’, directed by Lynch himself. You can watch it above.

The monochrome visuals were shot by Lynch in 1992 on Hi-8 format and depict Badalamenti cruising the streets while lip-syncing with the track’s spoken word vocal.

Recorded under the name of Thought Gang, the self-titled album from the duo emerged from the pair’s jazz work together between 1992 and 1993, but never saw release after it was completed, until now. The pair began working together on the project after the airing of the second series of Twin Peaks when production on Fire Walk With Me began. Two tracks from the Thought Gang album – ‘A Real Indication’ and ‘The Black Dog Runs at Night’ – did make it onto the soundtrack for Fire Walk With Me but the rest had remained unreleased.

Sacred Bones will release Thought Gang on LP, CD and digital formats tomorrow (November 2). You can pre-order the album here.
