RZA To Oversee Wu-Tang Clan Drama

A new scripted drama series written and created by RZA and screenwriter Alex Tse will look at the rise of the Wu-Tang Clan

A scripted drama ordered by American entertainment company Hulu is set to explore the rise of the Wu-Tang Clan.

As Variety reports, the series, titled Wu-Tang: An American Saga, is created, written, and executive produced by US screenwriter Alex Tse alongside the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA.

Hulu has ordered 10 episodes of the show and fellow Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man has also been brought on board to executive produce. Ghostface Killa, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, GZA and the estate of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard are also involved as consulting producers on the show.

The series is set in New York in the early 1990s and traces how the group came together having been united by founding member RZA.

"Wu-Tang through our music has always strove to inspire as we entertain," says RZA. "This opportunity to continue the Wu – Saga in a 10-episode series will exponentially increase our inspirational style of entertainment. In the immortal words of ODB ‘Wu-Tang is for the Children’."
