Gilles Peterson Curates Pop-Up Record Shop

Look Up is a pop-up record and book shop curated by DJ Gilles Peterson

A pop-up record and book shop curated by DJ Gilles Peterson will open for one week only this Monday in Stoke Newington.

Launching on September 24, Look Up is opening with the intention of raising money and awareness for Safaplace, Stoke Newington School’s mental health charity. The shop looks to explore the positive relationship between mental health and the arts and will host interviews and performances with musicians, artists, DJs and authors during the week it’s open for.

Peterson has curated all of the books, albums and artwork that will be for sale at the shop. He’s also selected the guests visiting the shop for interviews, the artists performing at The Old Church in Stoke Newington and the DJs playing the closing party at Five Miles.

Amongst those being interviewed are Goldie and UNKLE’s James Lavelle, while there will be live performances through next week at Stoke Newington’s The Old Church from the likes of singer Yazmin Lacey, Ninja Tune signee Jordan Rakei and freestyler rapper Aaron Unknown.

Daphni and Phonox resident HAAi, alongside unannounced special guests, will DJ at Tottenham’s Five Miles for the closing party on October 4. You can get tickets for that party here.
