Nirvana ‎– Bleach
I didn't have any records when I was younger, I never had money to buy records. I would go to the local library and borrow CDs from there. But it was a very random selection as you can imagine. I did like electronic music, I just didn't find that much of it in the library. There was Queens of the Stone Age and Nirvana. I heard one song [on Bleach] and I was like, 'This is the best thing ever. I've never heard anything as good in my life.' I wasn't involved in any music scene when I was a teenager and my friends wouldn't listen to Nirvana. I was the only one. They were listening to Nelly. And then when I got a bit older, when I was about 15, 16, there was the Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and Art Brut. I really liked Art Brut! I got really into the Cure, too, but I was never a teenage goth. I looked like what we in Germany would call 'alternative'. I mean I never had dreadlocks, but in a way I might have looked a bit… crusty.
