Scottish band announce soundtrack album for the film Kin

Mogwai have announced the release of a new album, a soundtrack for the forthcoming sci-fi thriller Kin. The film is directed by Jonathan and Josh Baker and stars Jack Reynor and Zoe Kravitz, as well as James Franco who plays a "vengeful criminal."

Mogwai have a history of working on soundtracks. They’ve provided music for documentaries including Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait (2006) and Atomic, Living in Dread and Promise (2015). The band also soundtracked the French TV series Les Revenants and contributed to the score of the 2006 Darren Aronofsky film The Fountain.

Stuart Braithwaite, Mogwai’s guitarist, describes the project as "different to anything [the band] has done before" and the music as "some of my favourite Mogwai has ever made." Kin: Original Motion Picture Sountrack releases 31 August on Rock Action. You can listen to a single ‘We’re Not Done’, above.
