Former Smiths and The The guitarist Johnny Marr has returned with a new single ‘Hi, Hello’ which you can enjoy by clicking on the YouTube embed above.
Marr has released the track to trail his new solo LP Call The Comet (due out on June 15) and if this track is anything to go by it should prove to be more of a Smiths-like affair than his last two albums Playland and The Messenger which explored his love of post punk and new wave.
“It was one of the songs that just fell into my hands and mind as I was playing,” says Marr. “The tune evoked something natural so I just followed it and it felt like I had to sing something personal, something we might all feel about someone sometime.”
