Friday saw the release of a new remix EP of Meatraffle’s latest single ‘Ndrangheta Allotment’, for which they have enlisted the talents of Mark Stewart, The Wilkins & Whalley Constellation and Octo Octa. Above, you can hear the latter’s interpretation of the track exclusively via tQ.
Across more than five minutes, Octo Octa looks to her signature sound of breakbeats to produce a captivating, downtempo twist on the band’s original track, cruising along at a considered tempo and retaining the source material’s birdsong samples.
The remix EP arrives in the lead-up to a new single from the band called ‘London Life’ which precedes their second album due later this year.
