Following the announcement last month of his debut album as Nonpareils, Aaron Hemphill has now shared a video for the album’s lead track, ‘The Timeless Now’. You can watch the video above.
The track is lifted from the former Liars member’s debut solo album, which is entitled Scented Pictures. The album contains Hemphill’s first solo recordings since his amicable departure from Liars in 2016.
The video is directed by Katerina Blahutova and Julia Parchimowicz. Hemphill and Blahutova met in Prague (where she was working as an architect, VJ and DJ, and she was the first person he thought of when it came to creating visuals for the record.
While Hemphill created the album artwork himself, he wanted the videos to involve collaboration, so invited Blahutova and Parchimowicz to work on the video for ‘The Timeless Now’, affording them complete creative control over the end result. The video moves through a colourful, animated world of slogans and curious graphics.
Scented Pictures is out on April 6 via Mute.
