Otherworldly pop outliers Modern Studies will release their second album Welcome Strangers on 18 May, via Fire Records.
Above you can hear their stunning new single ‘Mud And Flame’, a brilliant and beautiful piece that blends sublime vocals with a sweet and lavish instrumental.
The band used a Creative Scotland grant to pay for recording of the new album in a remote village hall, and hired a chamber orchestra for the sessions in rural Perthshire.
Says Scott of their creative process: "It’s an ever changing thing – an organism, there is space for each of the band to experiment."
