Aidan Moffat and RM Hubbert have collaborated on a new record, Here Lies The Body, out on May 11 on Rock Action.
Above you can watch the video for the first track to be shared from the LP, ‘Cockrow’, on which Moffat duets with Glasgow-based singer-songwriter Siobhan Wilson while Hubbert provides beautiful and sweeping folk guitar.
Moffat and Hubbard met some time ago in Glasgow, and recorded a song together on the latter’s award-winning 2012 record "I can’t remember when we first met, but I’m sure it would have been at a gig or a pub in Glasgow somewhere," says Moffat. "I’m pretty sure I put on Arab Strap’s first show back in the day!" adds Hubbard.
The album follows a rich narrative, which Moffat says was inspired by “an article I read about mothers who abandon their families, and how that still remains a pretty taboo subject in our times. When marriages break down, it’s almost always the man who leaves.”
