Houghton Confirms First Acts For 2018

Ricardo Villalobos, Andrew Weatherall and more will play second year of Craig Richards-curated Houghton

Houghton, one of the highlights in last summer’s festival calendar, will return once again this August to Houghton Hall in Norfolk with fabric resident Craig Richards at the helm.

The line-up for this year’s event sees a number of acts from last year return, such as Ricardo Villalobos, Andrew Weatherall, Ben UFO, Vladimir Ivkovic, Optimo, Margaret Dygas and more.

A number of DJs will also play the festival for the first time this year, with the likes of Call Super, Objekt, Zip, Shanti Celeste, Jane Fitz and Pearson Sound all locked in. More names are due to be announced in the coming months.

The festival will once again have a 24-hour license, a feature which was amongst its greatest strengths in its first year.

"By presenting music, art and a promised experience in an honest and restrained way meant those four days in Norfolk last year were not only magical but they were believable," Richards says. "The setting proved to be nothing but perfect. Our aim is to build on the foundations of last year’s success, but instead of growing we’re sticking to the story with minor improvements and a strong belief in the initial concept. Artists, DJs and musicians will be presented with meritocracy and equality. Everyone who performs will be given a chance to shine and everyone who attends will be treated to the best of everything."

Those who bought a ticket via Resident Advisor last year will be given a chance to purchase a ticket for this year’s event tomorrow from 9am while tickets go on general sale this Friday (February 2) at 9am. This year’s festival runs from August 9-12.
