Les Disques Du Crépuscule - From Brussels With Love
One of the songs on my new album is literally titled 'Crépuscule' – it's actually the name of the label from Belgium that distributed a lot of talented artists from the UK or other parts of Europe. This particular album From Brussels With Love is a compilation album but it's got a very specific sort of aesthetic to it. The album cover and the artwork is just outstanding and really impeccable. There's definitely a sequence in the whole album where you see sort of a [cyclicality] that you hear, such a beautiful, crafted energy towards the whole record.   We are living in a time where it's so-called playlists rather than compilations. [Years ago] everybody discovered for the first time that there's a way to make [unique] albums through compilation, which was actually very post-punk. Labels like Rough Trade were putting out their own compilations a long time before anyone else. There's always this really stylish element and sort of attitude [required] to even put them together. If I was able to project [the] same elements into a compilation, it's something that I think might be fun to do.
