Wooden Shjips have announced details of their fifth album, the aptly titled V.
Set for release in May via Thrill Jockey, the album is preceded by single ‘Staring At The Sun’, which you can hear just above.
The album is said to be "inspired by the tumult of the modern world, and the desire to offer a contrasting vision of peace" according to a press release announcing the album. The eight-minute ‘Staring At The Sun’ was written by guitarist and singer Ripley Johnson as he watched wildfires ravage the Pacific Northwest during the summer of last year.
V marks the quartet’s first album release since 2013’s Back To Land, and will be released on May 25.
