One of the highlights of our recent Day Of Radio was the Vegan Noise Terror show presented by well dressed, gentleman of punk rock Brother John Robb – and you can listen back to the whole thing on Mixcloud above.
Former The The and Electronic member and all round good person, Johnny Marr, discusses how he became vegetarian after the release of Meat Is Murder and how this progressed into a more militant diet: "Veganism did what drugs had done for me when I was a kid. If anything it made me more rock & roll… to me it’s a more radical choice than being a middle aged musician hanging round dressing rooms, picking at your mate’s rider."
Also on the show is former Napalm Death vocalist and Cathedral frontman, Lee Dorrian who pinpointed two foundational experiences which have guided his veganism over the years: "The animal rights anger came from personal experiences when you’ve seen abuse of animals growing up and then getting into anarchist punk bands like Crass and Flux of Pink Indians."
Zel Kaute, drummer with hardcore group Vodun explodes the protein myth and Kaya from Blood Youth on how a dare led to a complete lifestyle change.
