Panasonic will revamp their 1970s SP-10 turntable with an updated version to go on sale next summer

Panasonic have announced a new version of their 1970s Technics SP-10 turntable.

As What Hi-Fi reports, the turntable was announced at the IFA in Berlin, with Technics describing the Reference Class SP-10R as "the most premium turntable ever". It will go on sale next summer.

The company claims that the turntable will feature the world's-best signal-to-noise ratio and rotational stability courtesy of the 7kg brass, rubber and aluminium platter. It also features an ultra low-noise power supply and coreless direct-drive motor.

The announcement comes after Technics launched a number of recent updates of other turntables including their SL-1200 series.
