The nominees for this year's AIM Awards, annually celebrating independent music, have now been announced with nods for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Jane Weaver and Jlin included.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' Lovely Creatures: The Best of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (1984 – 2014) is nominated for the honour of the year's best catalogue release with Erasure, Alice Coltrane, Buzzcocks and Steve Hillage all also in the running.

Planet Mu and Local Action feature in the category of 'Best Small Label' alongside others, while Jlin's album Black Origami features in the 'Best Difficult Second Album' category.

67, Angel Weaver, Dave, Jane Weaver and Sampha all feature in the breakthrough list, while Because Music, Heavenly Recordings and Matador all have a stake in winning the award for the year's best independent label.

alt-J, Jane Weaver, Jlin, Bing & Ruth, Giggs, Stormzy and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are all nominated for the year's best album, while Warp Records co-founder Steve Beckett will take home the Pioneer Award.
