A cassette featuring 45 tracks by Aphex Twin was made available this weekend at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival where he headlined.
Users of the WATMM forum, frequented by Aphex Twin fans, reported the sale of the cassette as well as a full tracklist while a further Instagram post confirmed the sale of the tape. There’s currently little information on what the tracks on the tape sound like and how many copies were made available but it has been confirmed that they sold out quickly.
The move echoes the limited edition Aphex Twin vinyl made available at Field Day in London earlier this summer where he also played a headline set. That record eventually made its way onto a new online shop and archive launched earlier this month – it’s not yet known whether he will also make the cassette available on the store though more material was promised when it was launched.
