Check out a slice of sludgy acid from Bill Converse forthcoming on Dark Entries

Since their first release in 2009, the San Francisco-based Dark Entries label has maintained an impressive, consistently excellent run of releases, mostly spanning reissues of old Italo and EBM records, but also taking in new material from acts found by label head Josh Cheon.

The label's latest release, one of eight that they are putting out over the next few months, sees some new material from Bill Converse make its way to record, marking his third release for the label following his 2016 debut. Streaming above is the opening track 'Thank You', an expansive, sludgy slice of acid, punctuated by twisted, contorted vocal that make for quite the earworm across the track's nine-minute length.

The track is one of seven from The Shape Of Things To Come which is due for release on July 3. The record is another addition in an already impressive back catalogue from one of the US' best acid techno experimenters, marking his second album for Dark Entries following on from 2016's Meditations/Industry.

Hailing from Austin, Texas, Converse immersed himself in the early days of the 90s midwest rave scene, having begun DJing at a young age in Lansing, Michigan, with his analogue-driven sound taking in acid, techno, noise and tape experimentations. The seven tracks featured on this record were all recorded directly to tape with no overdubs at Converse's home studio.
