Pino Daniele - Come Un Gelato All' Equatore
He's an Italian pop singer who died last year – a friend sent me the complete set of his music, and I adore it. This album's from the late 1990s. He's pop, light and fresh, but he also is who he is. There's no side to his songs. He's also got this little raspy thing around his voice that I like – it's got character, and I think that music always should have that. The fact that he makes this accessible music, but didn't choose to sing in English like many of his contemporaries did…I really admired that about him.
