Nadine Shah has confirmed details of her upcoming new album, entitled Holiday Destination, set for release this August. Above, you can check out the video for ‘Out The Way’ which features on the album.
On the track, Shah gets to grips with recent political developments, above all the rise of nationalism amongst the right-wing. Speaking about recent personal experiences, Shah says: "On this one trip to the States, I’m taken to the other side of the airport in this room where everyone in the room has brown skin – and they’re all looking at me like ‘what the fuck are you doing here?!’ I just made this joke, I just said – ‘oh, I’m Pakistani.’ And then everyone started to laugh. But it’s just like – that’s totally about a rise in nationalism that I’m seeing."
The track features saxophone from Pete Wareham and will be released on Shah’s new record on August 25, via 1965 Records.
