David Bowie Anniversary 7″ Reissues Announced

Two more 7" records will be made available as part of an ongoing series of releases

The latest in a series of 7" reissues of classic material from David Bowie will be released next month, with two records having been newly announced.

The first of those is a limited edition 40th anniversary picture disc featuring ‘Be My Wife’, the second and final single to be released from Bowie’s album Low, which was the first in his Berlin trilogy of albums. The record’s other side will feature a previously unreleased live version of the instrumental track ‘Art Decade’ which Bowie wrote during the Low studio sessions. This particular live recording is taken from 1978 show in Perth, Australia during the Isolar II tour. The record will be available from June 16.

The other 7" marks the latest stop for the David Bowie Is exhibition which has now rolled into Barcelona. A limited edition red vinyl featuring ‘I’m Afraid Of Americans’ will mark this occasion, pressed on 7" vinyl for the first time. The Trent Reznor-remixed ‘V1’ version of the track will feature alongside an acoustic version of ‘Heroes’ recorded at The Bridge School benefit and only previously made available on a Bridge School compilation. The artwork will feature two photographs of Bowie captured against a wall by Mexican photographer Fernando Aceves in 1997 when Bowie took his Earthling tour to the country. This particular record will only be available at the Barcelona leg of the David Bowie Is exhibition.
