Madonnatron will release their debut album next month, following up on the small selection of tracks released so far on a couple of various artists compilations with Trashmouth and Fluffer.
Trashmouth is the home of their self-titled debut album which they recorded at the label’s in-house studios. Above, you can watch a video for the album’s title track, which offers a somewhat ritualistic theme while evoking the story of ‘the weeping woman’ known as La Llorono. Her tale says that she drowned her children in a fit of madness and took her life when she realised what she had done. According to the legend, her ghost haunts the rivers and lakes of Mexico.
‘Headless Children’ is the first track to be revealed from the album of the same name with the LP set for release on June 30; the track is out on May 19. They play Brighton’s The Great Escape before that on May 18 as well as London’s The Brewshed on June 1, while they will follow the album’s release with an appearance at Green Man which takes place from August 17-20.
