Helium - Pirate Prude
Mary Timony is a brilliant songwriter, and her guitar is sensational. Her and Ash Bowie together is an amazing combination. His work in Polvo as well I love, but sometimes can just be a bit too mathy. Mixed with Mary Timony and her guitar and brilliant voice and it's a perfect match. The way she uses distortion and creates tension was a big influence to me especially in the days I was playing in Ligament, prior to when Part Chimp formed. I'm not sure if any of the other guys in Part Chimp are into Helium, but they were really important to me.
