Björk, Laurie Anderson and St. Vincent are among the acts who have been enlisted for a new series of 7" records aimed at raising money for women’s healthcare organisation Planned Parenthood.
Also among the acts involved are Mitski, Common, Feist, Nico Muhly, Mary J. Blige and Sleater-Kinney, while Elliot Smith, Margaret Atwood and comedian Jenny Slate have also been enlisted.
Planned Parenthood will release 7" records featuring collaborations between these acts over the coming months, while a boxset of the releases will also follow. You can find the full list of collaborators and more details on the project here. "We hope the title [7-Inches For Planned Parenthood] evokes the rich history of 7-inch vinyl records as a medium for protest music and resistance.
