The group's classic catalogue is now available on streaming platforms

Throbbing Gristle and Mute have re-ignited their partnership with most of the group's back catalogue now available on streaming services for the first time.

This is described as the first phase of the partnership with plans set out for the next three years which will see all of the band's classic catalogue made available in digital and physical formats, while also making available long out of print and important works from the group.

There will also be new box sets of previous unreleased material and imagery released in the coming years as part of the deal. This comes amidst a flurry of activity for Throbbing Gristle's core members having taken part in the COUM Transmissions programme in Hull over the last month.

Chris Carter will release a new solo album on Mute in autumn of this year, marking his first solo album in 18 years. Cosey Fanni Tutti releases her autobiography, Art Sex Music, via Faber on April 6. Genesis Breyer P-Orridge will perform a reinterpretation of the soundtrack to Derek Jarman’s In The Shadow Of The Sun, which was originally performed by Throbbing Gristle, at London's Cafe Oto in May and has performed a number of special shows recently with Aaron Dilloway.

For now, you can check out Throbbing Gristle's catalogue on Spotify here and await further details of their plans with Mute to be rolled out in the coming months and years.
