Following on from the release last week of a mystery limited cassette by a producer under the name of THAT KNIGHTSBRIDGE OG, Ninja Tune have now followed it up with a further secretive release, this time under the moniker of DIAL 666 8100.
Just as on the THAT KNIGHTSBRIDGE OG release, the tape, which is available physically and digitally, features one track, called ‘UBER SPLIFF TO GATWICK’. Speculation continues as to just who might be behind the releases, assuming they are connected. Most evidence though points towards both being the work of Actress, who runs Ninja Tune sub-label Werk Discs and is expected to release new material this year with a number of live shows on the horizon.
The track is described thusly: "Taking a deep hit for the track’s five-minute duration, ‘UBER SPLIFF TO GATWICK’ does exactly as it says on the tin. A glazed-over red eye complexion while standing south side on the platform down wind, waiting for the last train to GATWICK."
