Band unveil bonkers new video for new single; watch below

British Sea Power have revealed the frenetic new video for ‘Bad Bohemian’, taken from their upcoming sixth studio album Dancers Inherit The Party.

Conceived and directed by the band’s Yan Wilkinson, the clip features the song’s lyrics sparking in swift bursts of Dadaist text behind hectic images of interpretative dance, juxtaposed flashes of cute cats and overturned insects, and a swarm of CGI bears.

Of the video, Wilkinson said: "I wanted the video to capture the feeling in between the real world and the virtual world; the way that it’s kind of fun but at the same time exhausting trying to keep up with the speed of everything. The way you can go from watching an entertaining Korean performer working with imaginary objects to live footage of war torn countries then sink into a world of cute animals before trying and digest global politics, all within a few clicks.

"It’s a confusing world I guess. I’ve been thinking a lot recently about how the artist Kurt Schwitters used things like bus tickets in his collage. To me adding a video of a kitten equates with him putting an everyday object like a bus ticket in a work of art was back in his day – how an everyday thing is capable of expressing something deeper whilst still being an everyday thing. I think the song has more going on below the surface than is at first obvious. I wanted the video to reflect that."

British Sea Power’s new album Dancers Inherit The Party is released on 31st March.
