Hamburg club is raising money for its rebuilding following a fire last year

A pair of fundraisers for the Hamburg club Golden Pudel, which was last year destroyed by a fire, will take place in London and Manchester next month.

On February 11, Hackney Wick's The Yard will host Golden Pudel residents Nina, RVDS and F#X alongside Beneath, Hessle Audio producer Elgato and an unannounced special guest. The following night on February 12, Nina, RVDS and F#X will again play at Manchester's Soup Kitchen, alongside Meandyou residents Andrew Lyster and Herron, as well as The Death Of Rave label head Conor Thomas. Donations are priced at between £5-10 for each night.

The much-loved club in Hamburg was placed under threat in 2015 amidst a dispute between the two owners of the building which housed the club. The club successfully fought against a looming forced auction, but was destroyed by a fire last February and has been closed since.

Extensive repairs are required before its reopening and while some support has been given by the Mara & Holger Cassens Foundation for the Support of Art and Culture, further money is required to get it back up and running. The club launched a campaign in October to raise money for its rebuild and has gained support from the likes of former resident Helena Hauff, Lena Willikens, Nils Frahm, Sleaford Mods, Ron Morelli, Karen Gwyer and many more via a series of video campaigns.

The club is widely regarded by many DJs as one of their favourite places to play, noted for its limited capacity and unfussy decor. You can donate to the campaign here.
