Salford promoters ‘Fat Out Till You Pass Out’ will be taking their DIY experimentalist attitude down to Islington Mill in April next year, assembling their third version of Fat Out Fest with the help of some choice curators. tQ are very pleased to announced their own stage at the festival, with a line-up including yet to be announced world exclusives selected by our very own John Doran.
Stages have also been arranged in collaboration with Anthony Chalmers of Baba Yaga’s Hut, Lovers and Lollypops from Portugal’s Milhões de Festa, Lisa Meyer of Supersonic Festival, Sweet Sticky’s Garth Be and a collaborative stage between The Basilica and Le Guess Who? promoters.
The international line-up works through a three-day course between April 14-16, featuring heavy psychedelic riffs from Blown Out, The Bug vs Dylan Carson of Earth, JIBÓIA, avant garde synths from Group A, or if preferable, lounge metal from Lake of Snakes. Fat Out Fest also takes place in the surrounding warehouses near Islington Mill itself. Aside from three days of excellent music, the festival will include space for art installations, workshops, DJs and other performance pieces.
Fat Out Fest’s founder and director, Emma Thompson, states the importance of this independent festival amidst more commercially led festivals; “[she] believe[s] it’s more important than ever to create space and support for the independent scene.”
Tickets are currently on sale here, starting at £40 for ‘Super Early’ bookings.
