Enter the Dragon takes its title from the 1973 Bruce Lee film of the same name and is an installation and performance piece designed to reflect on the dissemination and negotiation of eastern philosophies and the nature of improvised cooperation across different worlds.

After performing at Ding’s original London ICA installation in 2015, and its successor at the Chi K11 Museum in Shanghai alongside other experimental musicians, the project travelled to Singapore this September.

There, Chrononautz and Enter the Dragon’s lighting team, met with local musicians to perform. Together, they aimed to enact Ding’s central interest in “the stimulating and chemical interaction between sound, stage and the immediate emotional response of the audience.”

They captured the experience on video which shows fragments of the city-state’s everyday life and architecture, contrasted with photos and video footage taken from the performances. It’s all underlaid with an extended Chrononautz jam, both acidic and uncanny – check it out above.

Chrononautz are playing on tQ’s stage at Simple Things Festival in Bristol on October 22 alongside Suuns, Karen Gwyer and more. Further highlights at the festival include Death Grips, Ben UFO, Jessy Lanza, Warpaint and many others. Check here for tickets and more information.
