Tomorrow sees the release of the latest single from Factory Floor’s recent 25 25 album in the form of ‘Wave’, and the track has been given a slamming remix from footwork proponent and producer of our favourite album of 2015 Jlin.
She turns in a subdued footwork remix reminiscent of much of the traits that made up the excellent, forward-thinking work that appeared on her debut album, Dark Energy, warping vocal samples beyond recognition and giving the original a complete makeover.
Factory Floor will soon contribute to a new Tate commission providing sound accompaniment to a work by French avant-garde artist Philippe Parreno. You can find out more details on that here, while you can pre-order the new single, including Jlin’s remix, here.
