Daniel Avery Mixes Next DJ-Kicks

London-based DJ takes the helm on the next edition of the long-standing mix series

Following on from Jackmaster and Marcel Dettmann's contributions to the series earlier this year, Daniel Avery will mix the next DJ-Kicks compilation.

Avery's mix takes in a selection of brooding, introspective techno including music from In Aeternam Vale, Rrose, Planetary Assault Systems and Avery himself, among others. You can check out a video for the mix's ambient closer, 'Space Echo', a track by Avery, above.

“Electronic music is unique in that, whilst it has an immediate effect on the body, the culture surrounding it has the ability to run deep into your life," says Avery. "Whenever I’m in a club, I want to give myself up to music. This is the very thing that excites me the most. Witnessing a DJ create an atmosphere in a room from the ground up takes patience and effort from everyone present but when the pivotal moments hit, your watch stops ticking.”

His DJ-Kicks is released via !K7 on November 11 with a date at London's Phonox locked in for October 30 ahead of its release.
