New Art Book By Robert Beatty

Artist behind sleeves for Oneohtrix Point Never, Tame Impala and more readies new book

Chances are that you may have seen some of Robert Beatty’s work donning the sleeves of some of your favourite records in recent years.

Take Oneohtrix Point Never’s excellent Commissions I or perhaps Tame Impala’s Currents – Beatty is responsible for both of those, as well as works for Peaking Lights, Real Estate and more. Now he is launching a new project, Floodgate Companion, which he has been working on across the last several years alongside the various album sleeves he has been responsible for.

The book, which is released next month, takes in various pieces of unpublished artwork from those years taking its cues from "the heyday of paperback science fiction, experimental animation, and outsider private-press psychedelic records."

The art inside acts as suitable accompaniment to the one-sided flexidisc 7" available with the book which takes in music by Beatty himself. To find out more about the project, check out the trailer above and pre-order it here. You can also find some images below from the book itself.
