Andy Votel's Finders Keepers label hosts a special radio show themed around the Euro 2016 championships

With the Euro 2016 championship kicking off tonight at the Stade de France, Andy Votel’s Finders Keepers label has found a unique way to mark the occasion in the form of the ‘Fantasy Fuzzball Spezial’. You can take a listen to it above and read on to find out exactly what it involves.

What do you get if you mix The European Championship, 22 Fuzz Guitar pedals and a psychedelic version of The Eurovision WRONG Contest?

"Since I was a child I have spent an inordinate amount of time devising ways to avoid physical competitive exercise, finally resulting in this alternative approach to the 2016 European Championships replacing soccer balls with Fuzz pedals and Goal Posts with synth racks," says Andy Votel from the label. "During virtually any multi-national competition the staff at Finders Keepers waste time texting each other with fantasy re-scores where Kraftwerk play Erkin Koray and Serge Gainsbourg goes up against Black Sabbath so, following the recent compliments about our on-line radio show, we decided to turn it into another tenuous feature episode.

"Uniting international sports stars, psychedelic rock bands and people who both LOVE and DETEST football this show provides either a musical accompaniment to this month’s competition or an absolute alternative. The way we see it any European tournament is a good excuse for a party and we hope that this stands up as another reminder of how proud we should be to be part of psychedelic Europe."

The show follows on from the label’s ongoing online radio shows which are a semi-regular affair with recent specials being themed around Eurovision, the Balearic and all manner other subjects. You can check out the shows at their SoundCloud.
