Glasgow-based producer contributes an exclusive track to Jackmaster's forthcoming DJ Kicks compilation

One of the brightest rising producers in Glasgow’s house scene currently is Denis Sulta. Having become more involved in the club scene via, as is the case for many others in the city, premier record shop Rubadub, Sulta’s productions have seen release from local labels Numbers and Dixon Avenue Basement Jams in the last two years.

Now he’s contributed two tracks to Jackmaster’s forthcoming DJ Kicks compilation which sees the DJ and Glasgow scene figurehead mix 24 tracks across 80 minutes. Premiered above is ‘MSNJ’, featured in the mix’s opening minutes, an eight-minute euphoric builder sure to follow on from Sulta’s past club successes.

“The mix is influenced heavily by how I used to DJ at the first party I ever promoted, named Seismic, and another named Monox which was a straight up techno night where I was a resident from the age of 17," says Jackmaster, aka Jack Revill, of his compilation. "And although it wasn’t my plan, it turned into a kind of tribute to the cities that really formulated me as a DJ: Detroit, Chicago and Glasgow.”

The mix also takes in music from seminal producers and acts such as Basic Channel, Robert Hood, Ricardo Villalobos and Mike Dunn.

Jackmaster’s DJ Kicks is set for release, via !K7, on July 8 and will also feature exclusive tracks from Tessela and Alcatraz Harry. It follows on from previous contributions to the series this year from Moodymann and Dâm-Funk. You can pre-order the album here.
