Amsterdam's Rush Hour To Move

One of the world's most esteemed record shops finds a new, larger home

Often top of the list of places to visit for young tourists in Amsterdam, the Rush Hour record store in the city is moving to a larger location.

As Resident Advisor reports, the store is moving just a short distance along the street from its current location on Spuistraat. The new store will give Rush Hour more space allowing them to stock more records, new and second-hand.

Rush Hour co-founder Antal told RA that the move had been in the works for some time, but that they had been having trouble finding the right place. “We even checked for buildings in the outskirts,” he says. “To find such a beautiful space in the same street is quite unreal to us. It all happened pretty fast… I can’t wait until the opening, to party with our friends and artists to celebrate this next step.” The new store will open in April with a three-day series of special events running from April 8-10 featuring extended Rush Hour family and guests playing in the store.
