Motörhead frontman passes away at the age of 70

Lemmy, best known as the founding and sole constant member of Motörhead, has passed away at the age of 70, a statement from the band has confirmed.

Taking to Facebook, the band said that that he had passed away "after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family." Over the course of his time with Motörhead, and previously Hawkwind, Lemmy, aka Ian Kilmister, had earned iconic rock 'n' roll status both for his musicianship and widely reported bad boy antics.
