Dekmantel pulls up focus on its Selectors concept with new festival in Croatia

One of the best stages at Amsterdam’s Dekmantel Festival, Selectors, nestled among a bunch of old willow trees, hosts some of the world’s finest DJs for extended sets every year. Now, the Dekmantel team are focusing on the concept to launch a new intimate festival called Selectors in Croatia.

Set to take place at the Garden Resort in Tisno and to host 1500 people next September, the likes of Motor City Drum Ensemble, Helena Hauff, I-F, Hunee, Joy Orbison, Awesome Tapes From Africa, The Black Madonna, Young Marco and Lena Willikens have all been booked to play among others. “We immediately fell in love with the intimate, beautiful site and think it’s the perfect place to translate our favourite stage from Dekmantel Festival and really take the time to deepen the idea behind it,” says Dekmantel co-founder Thomas Martojo.

The Dekmantel team will also launch a Selectors compilation series alongside the festival with Motor City Drum Ensemble, Young Marco and Joy Orbison set to handle the first three in the series which will include a collection of unmixed tracks personally curated by each DJ. Motor City Drum Ensemble will take the helm on the first in the series. "I wanted to get some of the stuff that is really, really hard to get, and make it available for younger people," he says of his contribution. Selectors takes place in Tisno, Croatia from September 1-5 and you can find more information here.
