The Jesus & Mary Chain are working on a new album with Jim Reid of the band confirming in a new interview that the band are currently recording music.

As Consequence Of Sound report, Reid revealed the news in an interview with Time Out New York, saying: “We actually just started recording. It’s early days, but I would say it’s a more mature sound for the Mary Chain. But let’s just wait and see.” This would mark their first material since 1998’s Munki which was released shortly before their split in 1999. The band reunited in 2007 and have been touring on-and-off since then with a new live album released earlier this year.
