Composer will perform new music and dig into his extensive body of horror film scores for the show in Iceland

John Carpenter is set to play live for the first time ever making up the first announcement for ATP’s 2016 event in Iceland.

The first act announced for the festival, Carpenter will perform a musical retrospective taking in his work on a number of classic horror film scores as well as his debut studio album, Lost Themes, and new compositions. ATP’s Barry Horgan said: “We are incredibly honoured to present the first ever show by this legendary film-maker and composer. Having had the opportunity to present the maestro Ennio Morricone twice in recent years, it has been a burning ambition of ours to also present John Carpenter, who is both a pioneer and a huge influence on us and so many great musicians and film-makers that we work with. You'd be fucking crazy to miss this.” ATP Iceland takes place at a former NATO base in Keflavík, Iceland from July 1-3, 2016. You can find out more information and get tickets here.
