Leyla Records is a new Amsterdam label offering guttural, system-punishing techno and above you can stream a track from its inaugural release by British producer Manni Dee. The final cut on the four-track EP, ‘I Was Desire’ is one of the more pounding offerings served up on Human Image building gradually from the start into a foot-stomping, fist-pumping final couple of minutes.
Human Image follows up on previous Manni Dee releases for Black Sun and Perc Trax as well as support from Surgeon, who is name checked as a key inspiration for the Leyla label itself. Leyla is described as “a brand new label dedicated to recapturing the authentic feeling of techno from a specific era while retaining a modern touch.” The label’s debut release from Manni Dee will be released on 12” and digitally on July 10.
