Good news: with the new year comes H Hawkline’s first album proper for Heavenly. In The Pink Of Condition will be on shelves come February 2 2015, and follows up the Salt Gall Box Ghouls compilation he put out on the label this year and his last full-length, The Strange Uses Of Ox Gall from 2011. Huw Gwynfryn Evans, for Hawkline is he, is calling it simply "strange pop", informed, we’re told, by Richard Brautigan and Paul McCartney’s Ram, with Cate Le Bon handling production duties in Los Angeles. The album gets preceded by a single, ‘Moons In My Mirror’, on January 23, and Heavenly have given us a first spin of the track, a three-minute cut of immensely pleasing, wiry post-punk bearing some fine lyrical turns ("I never open my post/ I’m a moronic morose"), a natty earworm that promises much for the long-player.
