Bristol producer Ryan Teague is readying his fifth album Block Boundaries for release on November 17 through London’s Village Green label. In advance of that, Warp IDM veterans Plaid have reworked the album’s first single, ‘Last Known Position’. Taking hold of the original’s Steve Reich-esque tremulous, cyclical tuned percussion motifs, bespeaking Teague’s time in Indonesia spent studying Javanese gamelan music, Plaid transfer them to ping-ponging, submerged synth lines, strafed with volleys of synthetic brass and underlaid with a driving 4/4 beat.
