To Rococo Rot - Veiculo
Me and Robert Lippok have this running joke where I repeatedly tell him how the whole of Snd is a rip off of 'Micromanaged', the first track from this album. In some ways this is true. Mat and I listened to this album obsessively while making our first 12" - 'tplay' - in a friend's studio in Ealing. The weekend before the Snd session, I had taken another friend to the studio to make a 12", but the results were disastrous and abandoned half finished. So weekend two, me and Mat go down fully inspired by this track. Earlier I said how - in my opinion - LeBlanc's Major Malfunction is a kind of mirror of Herbie Hancock's Future Shock. The same is true of Snd's first album Makesnd Cassette. Listen through it and you can, I think, hear how Mat and I have adopted the framework set out in Veiculo.
