Death Grips Split

Dyspeptic avant industrial hip hop outfit Death Grips have joined the great majority, are pushing up daisies and are most definitely not pining for the fjords according to a statement issued via their Facebook page late last night (Wednesday). The group, who entered the consciousness of tQ with their excellent Ex-Military mix tape in 2011 and albums The Money Store, No Love Deep Web and Government Plates are downing tools after three busy years.

The statement read: "We are now at our best and so Death Grips is over. we have officially stopped. all currently scheduled live dates are canceled. our upcoming double album the powers that b will still be delivered worldwide later this year via Harvest/Third Worlds Records. Death Grips was and always has been a conceptual art exhibition anchored by sound and vision. above and beyond a "band". to our truest fans, please stay legend."

Lead rapper, Mr Shouty McSlippers can be heard roaring on the new Bug album Angels And Devils. Read John Calvert’s excellent interview with MC Ride here
